Trained by Max Williams who is recognized as one of the top farriers in the world, and educated at one of the top horseshoeing schools in the world, Shur Shod Horseshoeing School, and certified by the Brotherhood of Working Farriers, Lawrence combines the best of modern knowledge and the years of experience that have been passed on to him.
Lawrence takes an an approach to horseshoeing that is best for the horse and the horse’s health. He will not string a horse up to shoe him, and he will not make modifications to hooves that may cause long term injury to the horse. When a horse doesn’t need shoes for protective or corrective reasons Lawrence will tell you so and trim the horse in a natural, barefoot trim appropriate for the horse.
Whether teaching hoof care clinics for horse owners and care givers, or teaching new farriers, Lawrence stands behind the theory that while there is a shoe for every horse, every horse doesn’t need shoes - and while every horse was born barefoot, it is not always in the best interest of the horses to stay that way.
